Preservation of the Ancient Arts, Inc., a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization, was created to help give every child a chance to learn about the art of kung fu. Our goal is to find more organizations to join our efforts to stop bullying, promote positive self-esteem, and instill solid values supporting mental and physical health for all ages.
Thanks to our generous donors, we have provided scholarships to multiple students - a goal we wish to continue.
Meet the Team

Sifu/Teacher
Jimbo Carinio
Sifu Jimbo has served as the Chief Instructor at Tiger on the Red Kung Fu Academy since 2003, guiding students with the same passion and discipline that have shaped his own lifelong martial arts journey.
Growing up in California, Sifu was introduced to Chinese Kempo Karate by his father. Training side‑by‑side throughout his youth, he developed a deep respect for martial arts and the values it instills focus, humility, perseverance, and honor. By age 16, he had already built a strong foundation that would influence the rest of his life.
His path expanded in the fall of 1982 while attending Louisiana State University in Shreveport. After witnessing a powerful demonstration from a local kung fu school—complete with sparring, spears, swords, and techniques he had never seen before—his curiosity ignited. He began training in MyJhong Law Horn Kung Fu with his classmate David, one of the school’s top black belts at the time. Within a year and a half, he advanced under Master Johnny Lee, whose guidance shaped Sifu’s understanding of traditional kung fu and its deeper philosophies.
In 1991, Sifu Jimbo was chosen as the first successor to Grandmaster Lee, marking a pivotal moment in his martial arts career. He began teaching full‑time, dedicating himself not only to preserving the art but also to sharing it with future generations.
Today, Sifu Jimbo continues to lead Tiger on the Red with integrity, discipline, and heart. He believes martial arts is more than physical training—it is a way of life. The techniques he has mastered over decades are the same principles he uses to uplift others in the community. Whether mentoring students, supporting families, or helping individuals find confidence and direction, Sifu Jimbo’s commitment extends far beyond the academy walls.
His mission remains simple and powerful: Use kung fu to build stronger individuals, stronger families, and a stronger community.
